    Abstract

Communication: Highly oriented thin films of oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)s, oligoPPVs, provide information about the structure of polyPPV and structure-property relationships. It is shown that deposition of a substituted oligoPPV onto highly preoriented PTFE substrates leads to highly oriented thin films and that annealing produces a remarkable morphological change (see Figure and also the cover), an indication of epitaxial growth.
