Abstract
In the past decades, the application of neuromodulation has significantly advanced. As this treatment directly affects the nervous system and can lead to changes in behaviour or personality, it is important to have an ethical framework for determining when this treatment should or should not be performed. This article aims to explore the ethical aspects of current and potential future indications of neuromodulation. This was done by presenting six more and less controversial statements about the indication of modulation to 53 neuroscientists and asking whether they support these statements or not.
